MBTA

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is "a body politic, corporate, and a political subdivision" of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The MBTA has three rapid transit Lines: Red, Orange, and Blue and two Street car lines, Green and the Ashmont-Mattapan high speed line.

 
The Red line starts at Alewife and ends on two branches: Braintree, and Ashmont-Mattapan.

The Orange line Starts from Forest Hills and ends at Oak Grove.
 
The Blue line starts from Bowdoin and ends at Wonderland.

The Green line Starts from North station, where you can catch the B train that runs out to Boston college, C train that runs out to Cleveland Circle, D train that runs out to Riverside, and the E train that runs out to Heath Street.

Fares for buses start at $1.50 and Subway Fares start at $2.00

 
The Commuter Rail (purple line) starts from two Locations North station and South station. From North Station you can catch trains going to Rockport, Newburyport, Haverhill, Lowell, and Fitchburg. From South Station you can catch trains going to Plymouth, Kingston, Middle-borough/Lakeville, Providence, Forge Park, Needham, and Worcester.
