Volunteer Opportunities

This Page is dedicated to providing youth and young adults with opportunities to give back to the community.  Listed below are resources that allow you to help in areas which you are most passionate about.

Boston area

Boston Cares, is one of the largest volunteer organization in New England with over 100 projects every month throughout the Boston Metro Area and beyond.  They offer opportunities for people of all ages, all times and all skill sets.  They are an ideal organization to look into if you want to have a broad scope of options, not only in Boston but in the other 55 locations offered by their affiliates across the globe.

Are you an animal lover?  Do you feel more secure and happy when you are surrounded by animals?  Then you may want to volunteer at the Franklin Park Zoo.  Animals are an imprtant part of society.  They help us understand how to communicate and share through body language.  The Franklin Park Zoo offers many volunteer opportuntities, either dirty or clean, but either way you are helping some of our closest friends to remain safe and healthy.

The Greater Boston Food Bank is a leader in feeding regional hunger in the New England Area.  They feed hundreds of people, by providing food to hunger-relief agencies all over New England.

The American Red Cross of MA Bay-MetroWest is located in Waltham, MA.  "The American Red Cross is an humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through services that are consistent with its congressional charter and the principles of the International Red Cross Movement. In addition, the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay will develop and offer services that address critical human health and safety needs of the communities which it serves and are conisistent with the National Mission."

There are opportunities for you to give back everywhere.  You don't only have to go to an organization or school, you can help your community by picking up trash and putting it in the garbage,  babysiting your little brother/sister, or just going out of your way to help people around you.
